TEENS
FROM ARTHUR ASHE YOUTH TENNIS AND EDUCATION
TRAVEL
TO CARIBBEAN FOR ANGUILLA TENNIS ACADEMY
PHILADELPHIA,
PA, July 19, 2007 – A group of four area youngsters from Arthur
Ashe Youth Tennis and Education (AAYTE), 4842 Ridge Ave., have been
selected to participate in an instructional tennis program in the
Caribbean as part of the annual Anguilla Tennis Academy Summer Camp's
International Week.
The
youngsters, David Negron, 16, and Kenny Green, 16, both of the Logan
section of Philadelphia; Shaquille Vaughn, 15, of Mt. Airy; and
Galen Guevara, 14, of Abington, Montgomery County, are spending
a week on Anguilla as part of the program.
Lance
Lee, AAYTE Head Tennis Pro, said the youngsters were chosen to participate
in the program on the basis of their attendance throughout the year
and their dedication to improving their tennis and academic skills,
basic tenants of the Arthur Ashe curriculum.
“We
want this visit to Anguilla to be a learning experience for our
boys and girls, as well as an opportunity to test their tennis talents
against international competition,” said Lee, who will accompany
the youngsters on their journey.
Lee
noted that Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education is planning to
host a group of youngsters from the Anguilla Tennis Academy at their
complex in Philadelphia next summer.
