ADVANTA EXTENDS SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT WITH
ARTHUR ASHE YOUTH TENNIS AND EDUCATION

PHILADELPHIA, PA, December 2006 — Advanta Corp. (NASDAQ: ADVNB; ADVNA) has extended its sponsorship of Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education (AAYTE) serving as the organization's principal sponsor for the fifth consecutive year. AAYTE is a non-profit organization that serves over 10,500 children throughout the greater Philadelphia region with year-round programs that combine tennis instruction with educational initiatives. The announcement came today by Dennis Alter, Chairman and CEO of Advanta, and Scott Tharp, AAYTE Executive Director.

’This significant contribution from Advanta makes this holiday season very special for Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education and the thousands of young people who participate in our multi-faceted tennis and education programs,‘ Tharp said.

Alter and his wife, Gisela, were the largest private donors to the campaign leading to the creation of the new $12.5 million Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education Center at Ridge Ave. and School House Lane in the East Falls section of Philadelphia's Fairmount Park. The Center's main building has been appropriately named the Alter Pavilion in recognition of the couple's active involvement with the organization.

’It's important to my wife, Gisela, and me that we continue to develop healthy, fit and educated children in the community where we and many of Advanta's employees live,‘ Alter said. ’AAYTE is making this happen for thousands of underserved children and their families each year.‘

AAYTE, founded in 1952, is a national model for imaginative, public youth tennis and educational enrichment programs. Providing new opportunities to a diverse population, AAYTE annually delivers first-class tennis instruction, fitness, health and nutrition training, equipment, tutoring, computer science, library services, along with its nationally acclaimed life skills curriculum to children ages 4 to 18, mostly coming from underserved, low-income communities. The new $12.5 million Center with 16-courts -- dedicated exclusively to serve children -- is the only facility of its type in the country.
